- In April 2009, club member Wilhelmina "Bili" Young was featured in a Honolulu Advertiser photo about the Nanakuli Community Foundation, a group made up of alumni of Nanakuli High and Intermediate School. The group held a garage sale to fund scholarships for students who are now attending area community colleges and need help with books and other supplies.
